Quick Information About Kauai

Kauai, Hawaii is a very small island known as the oldest island out of all of the Hawaiian Islands.

Motion pictures, including Jurassic Park, have been filmed on the island.

Wailua Falls, Spouting Horn and Salt Pond Beach are three locations that can be seen without hiking a tough terrain.

Wailua Falls

1. Information

  • The Wailua Falls are spectacular twin waterfalls falling a distance of 80 feet.
  • These waterfalls are easily accessible by vehicle from anywhere on the island.

2. Directions

  • Whether coming from the north, south, east or west shores of the island, the Wailua Falls can be accessed from Highway 583 or Maalo Road.
  • Vehicles should only be parked at the designated parking area.

  • Salt Pond Beach is a white and sandy beach where many locals gather.
  • Next to the Salt Pond Beach are the salt ponds where native families, to this day, make salt.

2. Directions

  • Salt Pond Beach is located in Hanapepe following Lele Road for approximately one mile.

Tips to Remember

Respecting the laws and outdoors of Kauai will keep you and the island safe.

If you need additional help finding any of the three locations, contact a concierge at a resort, or enter the name of the site into a navigation system.
